Christex Foundation Signs a MOU with the MoCTI

Christex Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing free blockchain and Solana development training, signed  a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Communication,Technology and Innovation (MoCTI) of Sierra Leone, On June 12, 2024.

This MOU signifies a collaborative effort to leverage blockchain technology to enhance government asset management. According to the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation, the government has experienced significant financial losses due to untracked, mismanaged, and missing assets, highlighting the need for improved transparency and accountability.

Christex Foundation's expertise in blockchain technology aligns perfectly with MoCTI's mission to oversee the development and implementation of the government's Digital Transformation agenda. The MOU establishes a framework for collaboration to develop a Smart Management System (SAMS). This system aims to address the critical issue of missing and mismanaged assets, initially focusing on lands, buildings, and vehicles.

Through this partnership, Christex Foundation and MoCTI aim to achieve improved asset tracking. By implementing blockchain technology, SAMS will enable the government to track assets more effectively, reducing the risk of missing or mismanaged resources.

Furthermore, blockchain's inherent transparency will be harnessed to enhance transparency in asset management, fostering greater accountability. This improved tracking and transparency are expected to lead to a significant reduction in financial losses for the government.

This MOU represents a significant step forward for Christex Foundation's mission to empower individuals and organisations through blockchain technology. By collaborating with MoCTI, Christex Foundation will contribute to building a more efficient and transparent government for Sierra Leone.
